Scarlatti 550 Now is a sister project of Scriabin 2025
Scarlatti 550 Now is the sister project of the International Scriabin 2025 Festival, for the great contributions both Domenico Scarlatti (1685-1757) and Alexander Scriabin (1872-1915) have made in the history and development of keyboard music.
Both this Scarlatti project and the Scriabin 2025 festival are dedicated to the memory of Joe Patrych (1955-2023), who was a fine sound engineer based in NYC and his "piano geek" family zoom meetings during Covid time were particularly inspiring for pianists.
During his lifetime, Domenico Scarlatti composed a staggering amount of keyboard sonatas, and gradually all his 550 keyboard sonatas will be (slowly) compiled and curated here, starting from year 2025 which is 340 years since Scarlatti was born. Recordings curated here will be performances by a combination of pianists, harpsichordists and fortepianists from all around the world.
